Unlike most other new representatives, I had graduated from college and pursued two Master's degrees many years before joining First Investors. I seriously considered financial services as a career because I felt that the vast majority of people were not getting the financial guidance they so desperately needed, and most other firms were not willing to talk to them because they couldn't meet extraordinary minimum investment amounts. First Investors was willing to work with people of modest means, and those were the people I was most interested in helping.

I had come to realize right after my first job that I could not see myself in a nine to five position, with a fixed salary and career path. I firmly believe that we have only one life and you have to make it memorable and leave a legacy. I love to help others on a one-on-one basis, but I also love determining my destiny and earning a substantial income (which also allows me to help others). My passion for teaching and helping others extends beyond my primary career as a financial professional; I am also a Professor of Finance in Boston.

I live by a few simple maxims that have helped me in my career. The first is to always be honest with myself and do what's in the best interest of my clients. Second, never be afraid to take advice from others when it's needed. Third, never forget that clients always come first.

Being self-employed as a First Investors representative is one of the greatest decisions I have ever made. I thrive on the knowledge that my family's lifestyle is determined solely by my efforts, and that there are no restrictions on how much I am able to earn. My career with First Investors, a firm that truly cares for the welfare of its representatives, affords me the flexibility to spend as much time as I can with my family. This is what I truly love to do. And I can enjoy my life secure in the knowledge that I can ensure a well-funded future for my family.
