When I was offered a position with First Investors Corporation in 2000, I quickly accepted. I knew it wouldn't be easy, but I have a strong work ethic and I was determined to make it in this business. I started off slowly, gradually building my business through prospecting. I also attended every home show in my area to supplement my prospecting efforts. The key was treating all my clients as if they were the most important people in the world. They, in turn, referred me to their friends and family. Referrals led to more referrals, and that got the ball rolling. I soon realized that there would never be a shortfall of people to help.

During my early years, my manager supplied the energy, confidence and leadership that I needed to stay motivated. Everyone should gravitate to successful people to help them smooth out the rough spots. I've found that everyone at First Investors is willing to lend a hand to help you succeed.

As I matured as a representative, my manager gave me the opportunity to take on management tasks, such as recruiting, training and mentoring. I worked diligently to hone these skills, and in October 2004, I was offered the position of manager of my own office.

In my office, I foster the same attitude that helped me succeed as a young representative. I have a burning desire to help clients, and that has helped our office to become successful. I love what I do, and each day I try to motivate everyone in the office to reach for greater heights. The best thing about a career at First Investors—as a representative and as a manager—is that there really are no limits to success.
