Jessica Wuerz > Registered Representative"I plan to help my clients reach their goals and to one day help their children reach their goals too."
When I joined First Investors Corporation right out of college I was very excited. I had interviewed with six other companies in the industry and ultimately chose First Investors because of the unique competitive advantage that the Company offers. The philosophy of always putting the client's interests first and offering products with a goal-oriented approach is in sharp contrast with much of the industry's "push a product" mentality. The growth potential within the organization also served as a great attraction. My business got off to a slow start. I was extremely lucky to be guided by the leadership of two very remarkable mentors. One of them taught me the importance of follow-up and attention to detail, and gave me several successful techniques for analyzing client suitability. The other encouraged me to build on this foundation, expanding my prospecting skills and the ability to close. He also motivated me to believe that I could succeed. My approach to business is very simple. I work for the client! My philosophy is, "Do unto others as you would have others do unto you." I always take the time to go the extra mile for my clients and be there for them when they need me the most. Our approach to service truly sets us apart in the industry and is one explanation for my many referrals and success so far. I have also hired a full-time assistant to help me serve my clients. She has been an integral part of the growth of my business. We work as a team. With an assistant, I am able to visit clients at a moment's notice, knowing that she is available to cover the phones and perform necessary administrative tasks. I strongly believe in the "building block" approach. We must cover all aspects of a person's financial needs if we want to do the complete job and be true financial professionals. I learned a unique approach to the business from a colleague who told me to "get in over my head." In this business you cannot be afraid to try new things and explore paths not yet traveled. You must realize that you may not always be successful, but anything in the world worth having is worth fighting for. As I look forward, I hope to build on the core business that I have established. I plan to help my clients reach their goals and to one day help their children reach their goals too. Our business will grow exponentially in our ever-changing world. If I were to offer advice to others, I would say: "Work hard, care for others, follow direction, and remember that it's all a matter of attitude." |
